STEPHEN GRUBERG, Proprietor, was born and raised in Poughkeepsie. In fact, his family has resided in the area since the 1920's – just as long as Brasserie 292's ceiling tiles! After graduating Siena College, Stephen attended Albany Law School and currently practices in Manhattan, focusing his practice on debt capital markets transactions. Stephen is a restaurant and bar enthusiast and a self-professed foodie. How to recognize Stephen in Brasserie 292? You can find him chomping down on his favorite dishes, the Double Cut Pork Chop and the Bar Steak with fries while enjoying his favorite classic cocktail, a Manhattan on the rocks.

ALEX SERROUKAS, Proprietor, was born and raised in the City of Poughkeepsie. Alex states he was "raised by a wild pack of waitresses and line chefs," pertaining to growing up in his father's restaurant from a very young age. After attending the Trinity Pawling School and C.W.Post College, Alex opened his first restaurant at the age of 21. Currently. Alex and his partners own and operate seven restaurants in the Hudson Valley. Alex is a self taught chef and has a passion for interior design.

Alex's involvement with Brasserie 292 marks more than just another venture in the restaurant world; he is returning to the very street that serves as the foundation to his family's extensive culinary history. Just a stone throw from Brasserie 292, in 1964 Alex's father opened his first restaurant, Double O Donut Coffee Shop, on the corner of Market and Main Street.
